The Universal Man

The universal man has brown skin
He wakes each morning and goes to work.
The universal man is digitally connected
And TV tells him what he’s worth.

The universal man has a broad nose,
With slanted eyes, he views the world.
His face is wrinkled and skin has spots,
The universal man is a girl.

The universal man walks and runs,
Sometimes he fails deliberately.
He falls down to get up again,
The universal man is you and me.

The universal man wants more and more,
He rarely stands in a single spot.
The universal man has a disability,
He owns a gun, never taken a shot.

The universal man crawls before he walks,
But sometimes he forgets to stand up.
The universal man knows it’s time for change,
The universal man has seen enough.
